Ugh I have to get out of bed and go to work again? Does this ever stop?
It's another Monday and your fifth alarm of the morning just started ringing. Yep. It's time to start another week. You have to be determined to get out of bed and do the best you can with the time that is given to you. It's time to take a look at the workplace and the determination it takes to get better and better everyday.
Learning something you didn't know
This might not be the easiest of challenges. It can be tough to try to learn a new thing every day, and it might not always happen. What's important is the determination to do so. Especially at Mettle Ops, there really is something new to learn every day. Attaining knowledge in all different fields can be so important in the long run. School can't hit everything that you need to know, so hands-on learning is equally as important. That learning isn't always out in the open. It takes determination to find out what you need to know and how to learn it. Whether it be some special training or just talking to someone in particular who has experience in that field. Part of being a good employee is having that drive to learn and expand your knowledge to be as valuable as possible. As time passes, if your intent is to use this knowledge to the best of your ability, you will not only be knowledgeable but wise in these fields.
Being dependable
Being someone a coworker can depend on doesn't happen overnight. It takes determination over a length of time to earn that trust. You have to be determined to complete whatever tasks that are brought to you, and in a timely manner. If you don't have the resources to complete the task in hand, you need to acquire those resources. This also shows your coworker that you'll go the extra mile to solve the task, even if you weren't initially set up for success. Knowing that your coworkers trust you and that they have your back leads to a much more fulfilling day to day routine. This trustworthy relationship is a benefit to both sides.
I've listed just a few examples where determination is key in the workplace. Increasing your own knowledge and your coworkers' trust are just a couple of benefits.
