Patience

If I look up patience in the dictionary, what do I see?  I’ll sum it up in fewer words than dictionary.com does. Patience is “Bearing misfortune with calm and without anger” That’s still somewhat wordy so here’s the Josiah Definition, “Being able to wait without getting annoyed.” Patience is a HUGE part of life in and outside of work and is necessary on different scales. It is needed when it comes to waiting for your coffee to finish in the morning but also when waiting for input on your big project and beyond. I feel like patience can turn into a lost art in this day and age. Everything is happening so fast. Information that would have taken hours to find years ago can now be found in minutes. Occasionally I find myself expecting this kind of rapid solution to be the case in every situation. Spoiler alert: it is not. Being able to wait is a big deal when referring to patience.

Let’s take the input on the big project as an example.  Sometimes I think, what else can I do to speed this situation up? I need to realize that there comes a point where I’ve done all I can and now it’s in God’s hands.

Trials that require patience pop up all the time. It could be traffic, having to deal with a friend or loved one that’s hurt you, or waiting for the next chapter in life to reveal itself. For little things, I need to remember that the world will still go around no matter how slow this traffic is going. For bigger and scarier things, I need to continue to trust in God's plan for me.
