Throughout my life, my mom has always said that people’s perceptions are their reality, whether it be good or bad. This can sometimes go against your favor, but it could also come in handy as well. For example, I have been seeing things online about this topic when it comes to day-to-day life. You may be dreading going to work the next day, or not wanting to cook a nice meal for dinner, or maybe struggling to get off the couch to go for a walk. The key is to think about menial daily tasks as things that you are fortunate to be able to do. You need to reframe your thinking. Instead of thinking, “I have to go to work”, you can instead think, “I am able to provide and make money by going to work!”. And again, instead of saying “I have to cook”, you can say “I am fortunate to have the food I need to sustain myself and I get to cook it!”. And lastly, instead of thinking “I have to exercise”, you can think, “I am healthy and able enough to be able to go for a walk and get fresh air.”
I feel like in this day and age, it is very easy to get comfortable and used to where we are in life. It gets very easy to take our lives for granted and not realize how fortunate we are to have the things we have. It is very important to take a step back and adjust the way we think that way we can get even more out of life and be happier in general.
