Coworkers

Written by Nicky King

“I just bought my co-worker a ‘get better soon’ card. They’re not sick. I just think they could do better.” This statement, though funny, couldn’t be further from the truth here at Mettle Ops. Am I getting paid to say that? Well sort of, but I am also being very truthful!

When I think of the coworkers who are indispensable at Mettle Ops, two people come immediately to mind! Let’s call them both Stephanie. Why the same name? Because we have two, S1 and S2 for short.  They are both the same and yet completely different. These two Stephanies are the backbone of our team, their contributions are invaluable. How are they the same? They share unique qualities that set them apart.

·        Character qualities: reliable, honest, collaborative, hard-working, dedicated, willing to learn, passionate, and ambitious.

·        Their willingness to get involved allows them both to span multiple functions within the company, driving efficiency and success. Their impact is not just significant, it's inspiring.

·        Drivers of quality and profitability.

How are they different?

S1 has been with Mettle Ops since its inception. She has been promoted through several job levels over the past couple of years. Her job function is aligned with financials and company profitability. She is confident, sometimes controlling (I would know. We both share a fondness for this trait), but one many of us deeply admire. She knows her job well, performs it efficiently, and is used as a soundboard for many company decisions being made. Numbers are not her only strength. She commands an audience with her knowledge in many, MANY areas. We will only excel with her continued support.

S2 joined us as an Engineer but has worn many hats over the past few years to ensure our success. She is quiet, sometimes sassy, but speaks MUCH LOUDER with countless accomplishments. She makes everything look easy and is organized to a fault. S2 is the kind of teammate that will stand up and ask, “Is there something I can do to help?”, and then knock it out of the park! I haven’t seen anything that she is unable to understand and do. She gets more and more responsibility because of her proven ability to get the job done. Well deserved.

People are the key ingredient when measuring company success. I am thankful we have the “Stephanies” working for us!
