10 Things I’ve Learned on Zoom

By: Katie Bigelow

  1. Do not wear sleeveless/shoulderless tops (aka tube tops).

  2. Do not pick your nose.

  3. Do not log in with both your phone and computer. Pick one device.

  4. It takes longer to log on than one might plan for.

  5. Be careful of your background. Floating heads are very distracting to everyone else.

  6. Check your background. People are forming opinions about you based on what they see behind you.

  7. If you are going to join from your bedroom, make sure no one is in the bed behind you.

  8. You may have turned off your camera, but we can hear you snoring.

  9. If you choose to use a portable device, don't take it to the toilet with you. Nobody wants to see that.

  10. Breastfeeding on camera is tricky. Proceed with extreme caution.
